Working Principle

Moisture rises from the earth by capillary and osmotic action. The inner surface of the capillary tube contains silicon hydroxyl groups. When the capillary tube is filled with solution, the silicon hydroxyl groups on the capillary wall undergo dissociation, generating hydrogen ions that dissolve in the solution. This forms a double layer charge on the capillary tube wall, where the tube wall is a negatively charged layer and the solution is a positively charged layer(refer to Figure 1). When an electric field is applied to both ends of the capillary, the positively charged solution will move towards the cathode as a whole, forming Electro-osmosis. Either positively charged, negatively charged or uncharged particles move towards the cathode under the action of Electro-osmosis. The positively charged particles are affected by the electric force in the same direction, and move the fastest. The uncharged particles move the second fastest. The negatively charged particles move the slowest (because they are affected by the electric force in the opposite direction to Electro-osmosis, refer to Figure 2)

Description Of The System

  • Controller unit: The controller unit provides stable pulse voltage and thus guarantees an optimal drying process which can be easily monitored via detecting current.
  • Anodes: Embedded pure titanium coated with rare metals element into the wall, this rare metals element ensures outstanding reliability and resistance to physical and chemical attack.
  • Cathode: Install titanium rods coated with rare metal elements into the ground. (Refer to Figure 3)
